TSAFC

Tucson Soccer Academy Football Club team shot.

TSAFC took on one of the top teams in the WPSL Pacific South Division and fell 3-1 to undefeated Beach FC on Sunday.

Although it was TSAFC’s second loss to the Sea Lions, it was a better showing than their earlier 5-1 loss in California.

Beach FC scored two first half goals and were in control for much of the first 50 minutes.

The home team drew a penalty in the box and Brianna Barreiro (UTEP) converted the penalty kick to trim the lead in half.

Any hopes of earning the draw were lost with a late Beach FC goal as they took advantage of the home squad up on the attack.

TSAFC is made up of mostly high school and college age players, though there are a few post grad college players. Many of the players are from Northwest Tucson area high schools including Mountain View, Ironwood Ridge, CDO and Catalina Foothills.

They return to action with a road game against LA Premier FC on June 27 and return home to play Phoenix del Sol on July 8.
