The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (6-11, 1-8 in conference) couldn’t close the gap in the second half as the Aztecs lost 80-45 to Mesa Community College on Wednesday at the West Campus.

The Aztecs trailed 37-27 at halftime and dropped its fifth straight game.

Lawrence Pierce (Peoria HS) scored 10 of his 18 points in the first half as he knocked down three 3-pointers in the game. Kevin Burton (Apollo HS) also scored in double figures for the Aztecs as he finished with 10.

The Aztecs will travel to Sells, AZ on Saturday as they play Tohono O’Odham Community College. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.
