The Nighthawks have bragging rights in Northwest Tucson, but are now looking for bragging rights in the entire state as they prepare for the semifinals.

The Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks' softball team is one step closer to a state title, as they edged out inner-district rival Canyon del Oro 9-8 on Saturday.

The Nighthawks, a third seed in the tournament, will now face top seeded Sunrise Mountain on Saturday at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex.

In the double-elmination tournament, CDO is still alive. The Dorados will face 24th ranked Gila Bend later today.
