The Canyon Del Oro Dorados ended a four-game losing streak on Friday night, defeating Flowing Wells 36-15.

The Dorados trailed 8-0 early on, but quarterback Leo Khawam gave CDO the boost it needed. Khawam’s 19-yard touchdown carry and 12-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Tommy Sawyer gave the Dorados a 15-8 lead heading into halftime.

Out of the locker rooms, Flowing Wells struck back when a fake punt led to a 47-yard touchdown carry by Wesley Pritchett.

The game at 15-15, Khawam again found Sawyer, who made an impressive end zone catch over the back of his defender.

Late in the third quarter, Khawam connected in the air short to wide receiver Robert Padilla. Padilla sped past his defenders for a 36-yard touchdown to extend the Dorado lead to 29-15.

Running back Isaac Chacon would seal the victory for the Dorados with a 50-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Flowing Wells falls to 2-3 and will face Marana next Friday.

The Dorados improve to 1-4. They will face a tough Salpointe team on Friday.
