The Web Content Editor has administrative responsibility for the content of the Tucson Local Media websites, email blasts/newsletters and social media accounts. A key responsibility of the job is to upload content to websites, and social media accounts using department standard internet tools. The candidate understands and implements uploading of text and images, adhere to deadlines and timelines for maintaining websites, coordinates and cooperates with the newsroom editor to assure the websites represent the journalistic standards and credibility of the newspaper at all times. Candidate initiates and contributes to developing content plans and implementing and maintaining new content areas for multiple websites. The candidate must also have strong writing skills with the ability to cover breaking news and local events. The Web Content Editor works closely with the Managing Editors in producing a product that continually grows in quality and results in increased readership and revenues. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, management and follow-through for all digital services sold.
This position will focus on tactical and rapid account development by prospecting for new business in an effort to grow advertising revenue in the local retail business category. The primary responsibilities include: strategic prospecting, conducting needs assessments, idea and proposal generation, presentation of advertising recommendations and closing the sale.
This position will ensure exceptional customer service to current and prospective advertisers.
Additional key focus areas will include opening account relationships and setting client expectations. It will be necessary to meet with individual clients monthly, annually or quarterly to review campaign process, budgets and create new strategies.
