The January 8th Memorial Foundation is encouraging everyone in our community to mark the second anniversary of the Tucson shooting by joining us in a commemorative bell ringing.

The Foundation would like every church, school, business and organization to pause at exactly 10:10 AM on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 and ring a bell to acknowledge the tragedy that shook Tucson.

Inspired by the words of Tennyson, the Foundation is hoping that this simple gesture will allow all Arizonans to “ring in the common love of good” as we commemorate:

-The six people killed and the thirteen wounded on January 8, 2011

-The victims’ and survivors’ families and friends

-The inspiration of our community’s responses

-The worldwide support for all communities affected by senseless shootings

The “January 8th Memorial Foundation” is a not-for-profit organization established to honor and remember those involved in the tragic shooting on January 8, 2011. The mission of the Foundation is to create events, archives, and memorials to commemorate the tragic and the heroic events of January 8, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona and the upwelling of community support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
