The Pima County Sheriff’s Department wants everyone to have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July holiday. Fireworks have always been one of the items associated with this holiday celebration. However, some of the fireworks people possess are in violation of Arizona laws.

The following is a list of fireworks allowed in the unincorporated area of Pima County:

• Ground and handheld sparkling devices

• Cylindrical fountains

• Cone fountains

• Illuminating torches

• Wheels

• Ground spinners

• Flitter sparklers

• Toy smoke devices

• Wire sparklers or dipped sticks

• Multiple tube fireworks devices and pyrotechnic articles such as sparklers, snakes and smoke bombs are considered novelty devices, and their use is not restricted.

Restricted fireworks are:

• Bottle rockets

• Sky rockets

• Missile-type rockets

• Helicopters

• Torpedoes

• Roman candles

• Jumping jacks

If you live within the city limits, check to see what the firework restrictions are in that area.
