Susan G. Komen for the Cure

The Southern Arizona Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced today it will begin accepting applications starting October 20 from non-profits in Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Santa Cruz and Yuma Counties for its annual Community Grants Program. Grants will be awarded for a one-year period for projects providing Breast Cancer Education and Outreach; Screening and Support; Treatment; Treatment Support and Survivor Support for priority populations in Southern Arizona.  Applications are due by Dec. 4. 

Grant applicants must attend one of three Grant Writing Workshops in Tucson, Wilcox or Yuma prior to submitting an application. More information on the workshops or on the Community Grant Program can be found by contacting Komen Southern Arizona at 319-0155 or via email at

Komen Southern Arizona granted for the 2013-14 funding period. Since its inception in 1999, Komen Southern Arizona has granted over $5 million to local organizations in our service area. Seventy five percent of net proceeds, largely generated by the local Komen Race for the Cure, remain in Southern Arizona and 25 percent funds the Susan G. Komen Research program, which supports international grants and scientific partnerships to find the cure for breast cancer.
