On Wednesday, Nov. 7, an elderly resident of Oro Valley received a knock on her door, and opened it to find whom she later identified to police as a 10-year-old white male. Upon opening the door, the victim later told police a total of three suspects entered her home, two of them carrying firearms.

The homeowner was tied up, choked, and held at gunpoint as she was robbed of jewelry and money. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction, at which point the homeowner called the police, and the Department of Public Safety helicopter was called to assist Oro Valley Patrol with searching the area. No suspects were found at the time.

As the investigation commenced, the victim was able to provide crucial information that eventually led to the arrest of four individuals by the Oro Valley Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit and the Community Action Team. Those involved were apprehended on Nov. 9 during a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle.

In the vehicle were the driver, Wellington Curichimba Marin (DOB 5/27/72), and three passengers, to include Jacqueline Michelle Carlson (DOB 12/21/74) and Anthony Kane White-Giordano (DOB 05/25/94), along with a 13-year-old male, whose identity has been concealed because he is a minor. The 13-year-old was not believed to have been related to any of the other three suspects.

Marin was thought to have been the driver in the original incident.

Police believe Marin knew the victim and planned the robbery. He is said to have driven the suspects to the area of the residence and lured the victim to answer the door by having the minor knock. All four suspects entered the residence at that point.

Marin, Carlson, and White-Giordano have all been booked into the Pima County Jail for the following charges: Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, and Trafficking in Stolen Property.

The 13-year-old was charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Kidnapping, and was booked into the Pima County Juvenile Court.
