Last week, The Northwest Fire District celebrated its 25th year of its mini-muster school program.

Richardson Elementary School is where the district began the program, which now educates about 1,300 second-grade students across 15 schools on fire safety.

Valuable fire safety lessons include fire escape planning, smoke alarms, home fire safety, crawling low beneath smoke levels, and stop, drop and roll. In addition to those activities, students also had the opportunity to spray fire hoses, and race in a bucket brigade.
