The Oro Valley Police Department will hold its next three-part Rape Aggression Defense class (RAD) beginning Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Oro Valley Public Library, 1305 W. Naranja Road. Parts two and three of the course will be held Feb. 13 and 20, at the same time and location. Participants must attend all three sessions.

This free, self-defense class is designed to empower women to fight back against crime with awareness, prevention and risk-avoidance. Attendees should wear comfortable workout attire, as this is a physical class which includes punching and kicking. Water will be provided; participants may bring snacks.

The class is limited to 20 people. Minimum age for participation is 15.

To register, contact Sergeant Amy Graham at 229-5080 or agraham@orovalleyaz.gov.
