Ann Kirkpatrick

The national 2014 Congressional Art Competition is under way, and U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick invites high schools across Arizona’s District One to submit their students’ artwork.

Each spring, members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor this effort to recognize and encourage artistic talent in congressional districts across the nation. All high schools in District One are eligible to participate.

A winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from throughout Arizona to represent our district, and that student’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside artwork from other winners nationwide. Runners-up artwork will be displayed in Kirkpatrick’s Washington, D.C., and district offices.

Entries are limited to two pieces per school and must follow all guidelines, contain all required materials and be received in any of our five district offices no later than April 15, 2014. To enter, please send the original artwork along with a completed application, a one-page description of the medium, and the background of the piece.
