One Oro Valley resident recently lived out a lifelong dream to spin the wheel, and had her moment to shine last week on “Wheel of Fortune.”

Yvette Tucker was featured on a new episode of the hit game show last Tuesday night, and used her 15 minutes of fame to snag nearly $20,000 worth of cash and prizes (including a new car).

Tucker said she worked her way to the TV broadcast by participating in the Wheelmobile promotion that travels the country when it arrived in Tucson last February.

“We thought it would be a fun afternoon,” she said.

After her “audition,” Tucker said she received a letter from show producers informing her she was selected for further auditions. Eventually, she was selected as a contestant on the actual show. Tucker said she was very excited, to say the least.

Tucker said she made a girls’ trip of the opportunity by bringing her sisters and two friends from high school.

After arriving in L.A., she would eventually meet Vanna White, take the stage and spin the big wheel for herself (she said it’s a lot heavier than people realize).

“It was all just such a surreal experience,” she said.

The experience was everything the longtime “Wheel” fan could have asked for, and more.
