Award-winning author Peggy van Hulsteyn celebrates her new book “Yoga and Parkinson’s disease: A Journey to Health and Healing” in Tucson on Sept. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m.  at the Corporate Office of LSVT Global Inc., located at 3323 N. Campbell Ave., Suite 5.

Special guests include Cynthia Fox, co-founder of LSVT Global Inc., neurologist Scott Sherman, director of Movement Disorders for the University of Arizona and Dr. Tim and Diane Bowden, book cover models.

“Yoga and Parkinson’s disease” is a practical, how-to guide for using yoga to manage stress, improve mental alertness, increase flexibility, correct posture and improve the quality-of-life of readers with Parkinson’s. The book chronicles the author’s own experience as well as research studies that document a correlation between yoga practice and better health after a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. More than simply an exercise guide, the book is a soothing form of moving meditation and physical activity that provide a safe, effective way to rebuild strength, stamina, and flexibility.
