Pima Community College’s Center for Training and Development invites all alumni, employees and current students, staff and stakeholders to attend the CTD Reunion Picnic on Saturday, May 4.

The picnic is one of many events the college is having to mark CTD’s 50th anniversary. The event includes a picnic brunch and activities for all ages.

“We want to encourage people to attend and reconnect with everyone in the CTD family,” said CTD Director Brian Stewart. “This picnic is one way we can celebrate the lives that CTD has touched.”

CTD began as the Tucson Skills Center in 1963 and since then has trained more than 40,000 individuals. In 1973, the Skills Center became part of PCC. The Skills Center name was changed to the Center for Training and Development in 1993, when it also relocated to PCC’s Desert Vista Campus. Other anniversary events are being planned throughout 2013.

CTD provides high-quality training leading to immediate jobs or to job advancement in many in-demand fields in southern Arizona. CTD offers clock-hour training in health, culinary and food service, and business professions. PCC boasts a 90 percent completion rate and an 85 percent job placement rate in CTD programs.
