The 2015 Academy Awards are rapidly approaching, and with it comes all the buzz and hoopla surrounding the world of Hollywood. But for all the excitement surrounding 2014 in cinema, 2015 holds much more promise for fans of the next great chapters in blockbuster sagas, and with it comes a few select actors who are destined to run Hollywood for the coming years.
Chris Pratt is not exactly an actor who is flying below the radar. His 2014 was explosive with the critical acclaim of “Lego Movie” and “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Pratt is already a household name, but there is no ceiling to his potential as an A-list leading actor. Not only will “Lego Movie” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” likely see numerous big budget sequels in the near future, but Pratt is also the leading man in Stephen Spielberg’s latest installment of his “Jurassic Park” series. Anything with man-eating prehistoric beasts is sure to be a big hit at the box office, and Pratt is at the helm of “Jurassic World”, set to release this summer. And that is not all for Pratt. The charismatic action star is also in talks to carry the torch left behind by Harrison Ford, as he is rumored to star in a potential reboot of the “Indiana Jones” series.
Oscar Issac might just be one of the most talent filled actors in Hollywood today. In the past, Issac has been a master at slipping into off beat indy roles, and is most widely known for his parts in “Drive”, “Inside Llewyn Davis”, and “A Most Violent Year”, but movie fans should get used seeing his face on a much wider scale in the future. That’s because Issac is slated to star in Disney’s most anticipated film of all time, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. It was also recently announced that Issac would be playing one of the most powerful super villains in Marvel history, Apocalypse, in 2016’s “X-Men: Apocalypse”.
One of Hollywood’s most promising young stars also received quite the head start. Former child actor Michael B. Jordan was first known for his roles in HBO’s “The Wire” as well as the hit TV drama “Friday Night Lights”. But Jordan has since grown up, turning heads as the protagonist in the controversial “Fruitvale Station”. The film marked Jordan’s arrival as an adult actor, and even brought him comparisons to a young Denzel Washington. 2014 was a quiet year for Jordan, but his future is brighter than ever. He is set to star as The Human Torch in this summer’s “Fantastic Four”, a film that is already said to be towing sequels. The young actor is also slated to play Adonis Creed in Sylvester Stallone’s “Creed”, the latest installment in the Rocky Balboa series.
Expect to see these actors dominating the box offices for years to come. Only time will tell if their films will live up to the hype, but regardless of what the critics say, there is no doubt that we are watching the careers of three promising actors reach full bloom.
