Ironwood Ridge upset No. 6 CDO in an absolute slugfest on Tuesday afternoon. The teams combined for 26 runs and 33 hits and the visiting Nighthawks survived a four-error afternoon.

The Dorados scored in every inning and led 4-1 after three. Then the Ironwood Ridge bats came alive. The Nighthawks pointed out three runs in the fourth and exploded for six runs in the fifth.

CDO was not to be deterred, scoring five runs over those same two innings but found themselves down10-9.

The Nighthawks kept hitting. They added a trio of runs in each of the final two innings, while CDO could scratch out just a single run.

Evan Molnar got the win for Ironwood Ridge, while Derek Daly hit a pair of home runs and added a double. Jake Engel added a pair of doubles.

Nick Ames hit a home run for the Dorados.

The win improve the Nighthawks to 6-9 in regulars season games and 13-11 overall. They have won six of their last seven, after losing their first eight regular season games.

CDO falls to 8-3, 15-5 but have lost two of their last three games.

The Dorados next play Rincon at home on Thursday, while the Nighthawks travel to Nogales that same day.
