Jeff Scurran, "One Game, One Time"

Catalina Foothills’ Head Football Jeff Scurran recently released his first novel, One Game, One Time, a “based on a true story” re-telling of his Pima College team’s bowl game win. Scurran will hold his first book signing this weekend.

Scurran will be signing copies of the book at Tavolino Ristorante from 3-5 p.m. this Saturday, June 21. Tavolino is located at 2890 E. Skyline Drive and Scurran will have copies for the book for sale.

The book is a fictionalized account of his final season at Pima, though Scurran says most of the book is a factual re-telling, with only the names changed and a few conversations he was not privy to in person, re-enacted.

In the end Scurran sees the book as an “underdog makes good story” that is the central theme of his favorite sports movies.

Scurran is set to begin his second season as the Falcons’ head coach. He led them to the state playoffs last season, just a year removed from a winless season.
