Ann Kirkpatrick: Arizona values, Arizona first in CD1

Ann Kirkpatrick is a small-business owner who knows the value of hard work and fiscal responsibility. She is a candidate in Congressional District 1, Arizona’s largest district. This fall, the district’s boundaries will include Oro Valley and Marana.

Arizona born and raised, Ann’s earliest roots are found in Eastern Arizona on the White Mountain Apache Nation, where her father ran a general store and her mother taught school. Ann worked her way through the University of Arizona in Tucson, earning a bachelor’s degree and a law degree there.

After law school, Ann became Coconino County’s first female Deputy County Attorney, cracking down on criminals and protecting neighborhoods and families in Northern Arizona. She later served as Sedona’s City Attorney.

In November 2004, Ann’s neighbors elected her to the Arizona House of Representatives, where she championed fiscal responsibility and quality education.

During her 2008-10 term in the U.S. House of Representatives, Ann’s hard work created jobs, helped small businesses, hired more border patrol agents, and protected veterans and seniors.

Ann is committed to cutting wasteful spending and investing in education and emerging technology. She strongly opposes any effort to dismantle Medicare and turn it into a voucher system.

Ann has Arizona values running through her veins. She knows what matters to us: good jobs, strong schools and a fair shot for families to get ahead. She’ll work to bridge the partisan divide and deliver results for Arizona.
