Two video game players took a break from a late night session with a drive around town, though the timing of their activity was peculiar enough to warrant police attention.
Just after midnight on Friday, June 16, an OVPD officer parked at the office plaza at Arrowsmith Drive and North Rancho Vistoso Boulevard observed a silver Hyundai drive towards the plaza entrance, perform a U-turn, and head from where it came.
The officer followed, and found the same vehicle parked facing westbound along the curb on Arrowsmith.
“This area has been afflicted with vehicle break-ins and burglaries,” the officer noted in his report, so he initiated contact with the two men he discovered in the vehicle.
The driver told the officer they were taking a break from playing video games, and the officer smelled marijuana. Neither man had a medical card, and the driver admitted to having weed in the vehicle.
After finding two glass jars with marijuana, baggies with residue, vaporizers, multiple grinders and more, the officer had more than enough evidence to place the driver under arrest for unlawful possession of both marijuana and paraphernalia.
