On Tuesday, July 24, Rincon District deputies with the Pima County Sherriff’s Department responded to a residence in the 7200 block of East River Canyon Place for the report of a burglary. When deputies arrived, they learned an unknown man had ransacked three vehicles on the property before he entered the victim’s home through their garage while the residents were sleeping. Over $2,000 worth of personal belongings, to include cash and electronics, were stolen in this incident.

A short time after the first burglary was reported, another theft was reported on the same street. A suspect was captured on video as he attempted to enter the residence through the front door. He was then seen stealing a statue that was on the front porch. It is believed that the two incidences are connected.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian or Hispanic male
  • In his late 20s to early 30s
  • Average to heavy build
  • Dark hair and a beard
  • Wearing a light colored short sleeved, button down shirt
