Rincon Heights residents are dancing, painting and dining in the streets this Saturday, April 10, during a Green Streets block party hosted by Watershed Management Group.

The event features live music from local band Spirit Familia, a catered dinner of local, organic food, painting of a vibrant street mural, and tours of green streets projects.

For three years, Watershed Management Group has been collaborating with the Rincon Heights Neighborhood Association to develop "an innovative, grassroots model for sustainability and community development that includes traffic calming devices, green landscaping, and retrofitted water harvesting basins."

The work earned first prize in the Making Arizona Competitive in the 21st Century award.

Two street blocks will be closed to traffic all day Saturday to paint an educational street mural and to hold an evening block party. The public is invited to participate in the street painting event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the block party from 4 to 7 p.m. Both events take place around the Feld Davis Park.

Those interested in attending the Green Streets Block Party or other Earth Month events should visit watershedmg.org/earthmonth for more details and to buy tickets, or call 520-396-3266. Tickets for the block party are $25 dollars for adults and $15 for children seven to 14. They must be purchased in advance.
