Students at Canyon del Oro High School know that their mascot is the Dorado, though few know of the figure’s history, and his place in Native American Culture. Furthermore, over the years, a consistent image of The Dorado has failed to materialize. Looking to create a figure of pride for the CDO community, principal Tara Bulleigh set out to research and create the school’s first mascot—Dorado Man.
