Shop OV, the campaign intended to encourage local commerce, has more than 90 participating businesses, according to a mid-February update from Amanda Jacobs, economic development specialist for the town of Oro Valley.

More than 700 durable, black and gold Shop OV shopping bags have been distributed through the town and the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce, Jacobs said. Bags and bumper stickers remain for people to pick up and use.

“Citizens love the bags,” Jacobs said, and business people are “excited” to see government and chamber support.

Shop OV is intended to bolster local business as well as town sales tax receipts.
