Best Shoe Store

Sketchers Outlet

"I’m not a shopper at all but I do know how important it is to have good shoes. Sketchers is a store that I like to go to because it’s like a one stop shop for me. They have a variety of shoe styles to meet my needs and they are always comfortable as soon as you put them on; any shoe salesman that says, “You just need to break them in,” tell them you break it in I’m going to Sketchers!”

Best Hiking Trail

The Loop

"The Loop bike trail is just a short ride from my neighborhood of Continental Ranch. Once on The Loop trail,I can ride my bike for miles with no worry of car traffic. It’s also a short distance to parks in my area such as

Crossroads at Silverbell Park and numerous parks in the area. If you are taking just a short ride with the family or a hard core work out, this is a great trail.

Best Family Dining

"Oregano’s is a happy habit for the whole family.

The atmosphere is upbeat, with lots of retro décor and Frank Sinatra tunes crooning in the background.  Large selection of consistently tasty lunch and dinner items brought to you by a friendly knowledgeable wait staff. They’re famous for generously topped pizzas, hot  sandwiches, humongous salads, my favorite the ‘vino bambino,’ and to die for signature “Original Pizza” Cookie Desserts.  Don’t miss this one, it’s a freshly baked chocolate chip, peanut butter or macadamia nut cookie topped with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream.  Enough for the whole family to share.

Oregano’s is a friendly class act.

Best Deli/Sandwich

"I always love to throw support behind organizations that open with plans to give back to the community, and make great food. Firehouse subs opened in Marana last year, and has been a great place for lunch. Whether the sandwich is served hot or cold, they are fantastic.”

Best coffee house

Roadrunner Coffee

By far the best Coffee House in NW Tucson is Roadrunner Coffee. They not only offer the typical coffee house blends you might find in chain stores but you will also find a nice variety of wraps, baked goods and gelato to compliment your coffee. The staff is always courteous and helpful and you can tell they have an unsurpassed love for what they make. “

Best Mexican Food

Nana’s Kitchen

"My wife and I stumbled upon Nana’s Kitchen and have found ourselves returning over and over, continuing to have wonderful experiences.

The food, which comes from family recipes, is fantastic. The margaritas and beers are great. And the staff is very kind and friendly.

Each time we have gone, the place is packed, but yet a table is quickly available and the food comes out in a timely manner. There is a wonderful family vibe in the air, where I have felt like giving a friendly nod to the tables nearby and a handshake to the staff when I leave.”

Best Hair Salon

Imagen Salon and Day Spa

"I don’t know how long I went without a “professional” haircut. Even if I did, I’m not sure if I’d want to admit it. That said, I finally decided that my hair wasn’t going to fix itself - nor did I feel like I could tolerate my long locks even one more day. I called first thing in the morning and had an appointent in two hours. I explained that I wanted to donate my hair, and promised to cry. She made great suggestions and quickly got down to business. Despite tears,  she was kind and patient and I got a great, fun cut. You can tell she loves what she does and she’s fun to chat with. I’ve been to the salon before for other services - a massage, manicure/pedicure, which were all pleasant experiences. It’s cool salon without pretension. Their prices are very reasonable and everyone is friendly and professional.”
