The Force Awakens

After a stellar opening weekend, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" took the box office by storm. The movie will be available at-home next month.

While fans of a galaxy far, far away will still have to wait some time before the releases of “Star Wars: Episode VIII” or “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” there is some good news in regards to the beloved franchise.

Disney recently announced the release date for the digital, DVD and Blu-Ray versions of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which came out Dec. 18 last year. The movie will be coming to home TV screens in digital HD on April 1, while the DVD and Blu-Ray combo packs will release April 5.

Since being released, “The Force Awakens” has grossed more than $2 billion worldwide. Not accounting for inflation, the film stands at the No. 3 spot of all time at the box office, behind Avatar a $2.7 billion and Titanic at $2.1 billion.
