For the first time this summer, Championship Sports, is going to be offering a variety of fun outdoor sports for boys and girls age 3-10.

“We’re excited about offering it this summer,” said Jennifer Ciurca, one of the owners at Championship Sports. “It’s just something that we hadn’t really thought about offering before. It’ll give kids something to do and it’s sports so they’ll enjoy it.”

The sports camp will be offered in one-week sessions throughout all of June and all but the first week of July. It will go Monday through Thursday from 8-10:30 a.m. The sports the kids will participate in include: outdoor soccer, t-ball, wiffleball, baseball, flag football, kickball and volleyball. All of these will take place at Mike Jacob Sports Park located off Interstate 10 just south of West Ina Road.

Besides wanting to give parents a place for their kids to go during the summer, Jen, says that the sports camp encourages kids to stay active and healthy, as well as encouraging them to have fun.

Parents can register their kids now for the camp. For a week session it costs $100 per child, which also includes a t-shirt.
