Tucson Padres Game Summary Omaha 7 Tucson 2 -

Saturday WP: Dwyer (3-3) LP: Stauffer  (0-1) S: None Time: 2:37 Attn: 4,787 Chris Dwyer threw his first complete game of the year on Saturday night as the Omaha Storm Chasers defeated the Tucson Padres, 7-2 at Kino Stadium.

Dwyer allowed eight hits and four walks, striking out four hitters. The Padres missed an opportunity to jump ahead early in the game when they had the bases loaded with no outs in the first inning and didn’t score. Omaha took the lead the next inning when Christian Colon blasted a two-run home run down the left field line. The home run was Colon’s first in Triple-A.

The Storm Chasers had two chances to score in the top of the third, but the Padres made two strong defensive plays to keep Omaha from scoring. Anthony Seratelli doubled to right field with one out, but Sawyer Carroll relayed a throw to Andy Parrino who fired home to catch Adam Moore out at the plate.

Tucson ended the inning when pitcher Tim Stauffer caught Seratelli trying to steal home. Eddy Rodriguez brought in the Padres first run of the game with an RBI groundout in the fourth inning. The Storm Chasers scored their third run when David Lough came across on a force out in the top of the fifth. Before scoring, Lough had reached third base off an errant pickoff throw from Rodriguez and a wild pitch from Kip Wells. Tucson answered with one run in the bottom half of the inning with a Parrino RBI double.

Lough prevented another Padre run from scoring when he threw out Daniel Robertson from left field on Parrino’s hit. Omaha added to their lead in the seventh inning with two runs coming in from Mitch Maier’s RBI triple and a sacrifice fly hit by Adam Moore.

Lough put the game out of reach with a two-run single in the eighth to make the score 7-2 Storm Chasers. Tucson’s starting pitcher Stauffer appeared in his third minor league rehab start on Friday. He went three innings allowing four hits and two runs. Stauffer is rehabbing from an injury to his right elbow.
