In case you haven’t been on our website in the past 24 hours, head over to ArizonaWildcats.com and check out the all-new site design. Kudos to our web manager, Mike Lowery, and his team on the new design. They worked hard over the summer to revamp the site. We always want to be on the cutting edge of technology and social media and our new site reflects that. There is a link for feedback located at the bottom of every page. Browse through the site and let us know what you think. One of my favorite features of the new site is the striking presentation of the main photos that highlight our student-athletes. #AZisWildcatCountry
PAC-12 NETWORKS UPDATE
I hope you have had the opportunity to enjoy the programming on the new Pac-12 Networks. The quality of the production and on-air talent are first-class. We’re just about a week away from our first Pac-12 Networks broadcast, football vs. Oklahoma State. Of course, anyone in driving distance needs to do all they can to get to the game, but if you can’t make it to the game I hope you will continue to let your cable or satellite TV provider know that you want the Pac-12 Networks! The conference is hoping a deal will be struck with other providers soon, including DirecTV, so keep the pressure on. Visit the channel finder to see if your provider is carrying the station.
SUN TRAN SHUTTLE SERVICE IS BACK ON
This past Sunday the Arizona Daily Star put out an in-depth and will written Arizona football preview section. The preview mentioned that at time of printing the Sun Tran shuttle service was still up in the air.
We’re thrilled that the City of Tucson’s Department of Transportation recently announced the Sun Tran shuttle service is coming back. Fans can park at Hi Corbett Field and ride the shuttle to Arizona Stadium. There is no fee to park at Hi Corbett. Round-trip full-fare will be $3, while round-trip half fares will be $1.50 for seniors 65 or older, persons with disabilities, and Medicare cardholders. Kids 5 and under can ride for free. The shuttle service begins two hours prior to every home game. Click here for more information. Special thanks to the city leaders that made this happen.
CRUISING DOWN FROM PHOENIX
Speaking of bus service, there is still room on the Cat Cruiser for Saturday’s opener. We work with a great partner, Bon Voyage Travel, to provide transportation from the Valley for our Phoenix-area fans. There are three different pick up locations for fans to choose from. Cost is $30 per person. Click here to reserve a spot on the bus or call 1-800-439-7963.
We’ve been selected by ESPN as one of the top tailgate environments in the nation! That’s awesome, and a testament to our great fans who are a part of our pre-game tailgating. ESPN is hosting a “Tailgate Rivalries” contest where fans vote to determine has the best tailgating experience. We beat Fresno State last week and now face the University of Georgia, which already puts us in the top 16 as one of the best tailgating schools. Now it’s to vote for Arizona each day so we can beat Georgia and move another step closer to claiming the championship. Click here to vote and tell your friends to do the same.
I’m looking forward to walking around campus and taking in the sights and sounds of tailgating. As a reminder, tailgating on the mall begins six hours prior to every home game, so 1:30 p.m. for Saturday’s game. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in making our tailgating environment safe and one of the best in the country. Click here for more information on our tailgating policies.
A-CLUB LETTERWINNER UPDATE
Arizona is going to miss Justin Silverstein, former golfer (2006-09) and Assistant Coach for our women’s golf team. Justin was hired as the Assistant Women’s Golf Coach for the USC Trojans this past summer. Justin began his coaching career as a volunteer coach here at Arizona and quickly moved up as the Assistant Coach under Head Coach Laura Ianello. Justin had great success here at Arizona and we wish him a successful career in coaching. We know Justin’s wardrobe will now hold maroon and gold but he will always bleed the red and blue…Bear Down!

*Our cross country teams will send runners to the George Kyte Classic on Saturday afternoon in Flagstaff to open the year. Good luck, Cats!
*Soccer moves to its second week of play with a visit to the pitch at Creighton University on Saturday afternoon. Perhaps there will be some Wildcat fans in Omaha after our baseball team’s successful visit to that fine city in June. Good luck, Cats!
