The Sacramento River Cats scored ten runs in the first inning on way to a 20-5 win over the Tucson Padres Sunday at Kino Stadium. Sacramento tied its all-time record with 24 hits in the contest, which was also the highest single-game total in the Pacific Coast League this season. The River Cats had 12 consecutive batters reach base in the first with all ten of their runs coming with two outs. Michael Taylor hit a grand slam into the visitors' bullpen and Hiroyuki Nakajima’s three-run shot accounted for the two home runs in the inning. Sacramento scored five runs between the second and fifth innings, before tacking on four runs in the top of the sixth. The final run for the River Cats came in the seventh when Scott Moore blasted his seventh home run of the year and third home run in the last two games. Grant Green and Andy Parrino each collected four hits in the game, while Moore scored a team-high four runs. Tucson rallied for four runs in the ninth highlighted by Cody Decker’s two-run home run onto the left-center field walkway. The other two runs came across on a double play and Gregorio Petit’s RBI single. Sonny Gray earned his fifth win of the season for Sacramento and struck out nine Padres in six innings. Jorge Reyes lost his first game of the year after surrendering eight runs on six hits in 0.2 innings.
