PCC Men’s Tennis Dominates Imperial Valley College


 The Pima Community College men’s tennis team (1-1) shut out Imperial Valley College (Calif.) 9-0 on Saturday at the West Campus.

Joe Owen (Douglas HS) and Dylan Vo (Ironwood Ridge HS) won their No. 1 doubles match 8-1 over Robert Flores and Brandon Fitzimmons. Vo went on to blank Fitzsimmons in the No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-0. Owen defeated flores at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1. Landon Trejo (St. David HS) and Carlos Medina (Amphitheater HS) defeated their opponents in the No. 3 doubles match 8-0. Trejo won his No. 5 singles match 6-1, 6-1 while Medina won at No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0.

Baldemar Audeves-Martinez and DJ Campas (Douglas HS) went on to win their No. 2 doubles match 8-3. Audeves-Martinez won his No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0 while Campas defeated his opponent at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-2.

The Aztecs will open conference competition on Feb. 26 when they play at Glendale Community College at 1:30 p.m.
