University of Arizona junior running back Ka’Deem Carey has been named the 2013 Pac-12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year, it was announced by the league on Monday with its annual awards. Additionally, five more members of the football team earned accolades within the announcement.

Carey is Arizona’s first Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year honoree. Previously, the Wildcats had seven winners of the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Award. In 2005, WR Mike Thomas was named Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.

Also a Doak Walker Award finalist and a Heisman Trophy and All-America candidate, Carey is Arizona’s all-time career rushing leader (4,070 yards) and is currently the nation’s No. 2 rusher (156.0 ypg). He’s second among active FBS players with 4,070 career rushing yards. He owns or shares 21 single-game, season and career school records and leads all FBS players with 15-straight 100-yard rushing games.

Carey leads all active FBS players with 4,070 career rushing yards (UA school record) and leads all active FBS players with 50 career touchdowns (UA school record). He ranks second among all active FBS players with 20.5 rush attempts per game (career). He’s tied for the national lead among active FBS players with 21 career 100-yard rushing games. The Tucson native has rushed for 100-plus yards in 15-straight games (longest streak in FBS) and in 19 of last 20 games played (also 21 of last 24). He has 125-plus all-purpose yards in 15-straight games played.

Carey also earned unanimous All-Pac-12 First-Team honors ( the only among the 2013 awards) for the second-straight season. Also on offense, freshman receiver Nate Phillips was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. On the season, he has 42 receptions for 503 yards and seven touchdowns. He leads the receiving group in scores.

On defense, senior linebacker Marquis Flowers, senior defensive lineman Tevin Hood, junior safety Jared Tevis and freshman linebacker Scooby Wright also earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. Flowers leads all UA defenders with 86 total tackles.
