Former CDO softball standout Kayla Bonstrom was named to the Pac-12’s second team All-Academic team. It is the second award this season for the Stanford sophomore.

Bonstrom was one of six Cardinal players to make the team, joining Cassandra Roulund on the second team. Hanna Winter was a first team selection.

Bonstrom, who is undeclared, but anticipates a major in economics/business, holds a 3.48 GPA. She finished the year with a .333 batting average, led the team with 44 RBI, and was second on the team in fewest strikeouts (10), total bases (86), doubles (15) and triples (3). She excelled against Pac-12 competition, hitting .321 and leading the team in doubles (8) and total bases (42). For her efforts she was also named Honorable Mention Pac-12 All-Conference. A player to watch next year she was already named to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team.

She was even better as a freshman, being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Pac-12. She batted .404 and had 55 RBI’s.
