The Pima Community College women’s golf team finished the two-day tournament at the Silverbell Golf Course in second place on Tuesday. Josie Trapnell earned medalist honors after finishing second in the individual tournament with a two-day total of 160 (82-78).

At the end of the first day, the Aztecs found themselves in third place behind Mesa Community College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Pima trailed Chandler-Gilbert by 4-strokes after Monday’s round. After the second round, Pima finished 16-strokes ahead of Chandler-Gilbert to claim second. Mesa finished in first place.

Abriana Romero (St. Gregory College Prep HS) finished with a 177 (92-85) while Shelby Empens (Mountain View HS) closed out the tournament with a 182 (92-90). Brittney Makar (Cienega HS) had a 186 (87-99).

The Aztecs will play its next tournament on Mar. 9-10 at the Dobson Ranch Golf Course in Mesa.
