Ironwood Ridge

The Nighthawks (3-4) tallied their second straight win in a home game against Tucson last Friday.

Ironwood Ridge built an early lead and held off a Badger rally to finish the game, 24-21.

Senior running back Adrian Brahler carried the ball 21 times for 129 yards and a touchdown, and junior quarterback Tyler D'Amore competed nine passes for 192 yards and a touchdown with one interception.

Brahler also made an impact as a receiver, grabbing four passes for 87 yards, and junior wideout Austin Ballard reeled in three catches for 65 yards.

Ironwood Ridge stays at home this Friday to take on Sierra Vista Buena at 7 p.m.


The Tigers rushed to their second straight victory with a 20-0 shutout win over Flowing Wells last Friday.

Senior running back Terry Helsel rushed 11 times for 53 yards and touchdown, and quarterback Robert Contreras added another rushing score in the fourth quarter. Sophomore kicker Randy LaFaye added two field goals for Marana. The Tigers lost 20-7 to Mountain View in a makeup game on Monday afternoon, and will travel to Cienega this Friday at 7 p.m.

Mountain view

Myles Williams carried 41 times for 304 yards and five touchdowns in the Mountain Lions' first win, rolling over Rincon/University 54-27 last Friday night. Mountain View won its second game of the season three days later with a 20-7 win over Marana on Monday. The Mountain Lions do not play this Friday, and host Salpointe Catholic on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
