Wednesday, Oct. 1

• A fresh block of T’ai Chi lessons begins today, five weeks of instruction on the moving meditation that benefits the heart, flexibility, mind and spirit. Thursday, Oct. 2

Saturday, Oct. 4

• Learn to protect your dog — and yourself — from rattlesnakes by attending the Marana Parks and Recreation Department’s snake avoidance training session. Dogs learn to use all their senses to detect snakes, using live, defanged Western Diamondback rattlers. • Reserve your spot now for a breezy 2-mile hike along the Bowen Trail, where you’ll view stunning saguaro-studded hillsides along with prickly pear and cholla stands.
