The stage is now set - After Denver defeated the Patriots earlier today to win the AFC Championship, the Seattle Seahawks took care of business this afternoon to win the NFC Championship.

The Seahawks defeated divisional rival San Francisco 23-17. In the final drive the game, down by six, San Francisco was driving, but Seattle's all-star corner Richard Sherman made the play in the end zone to cause an interception and seal the victory.

Seattle's offense struggled in the first half, trailing 10-3 at halftime.

However, a gutsy call on fourth down turned the game around, giving Seattle the first lead in the game in the fourth quarter. Instead of kicking the field goal with the 49ers leading 17-13, Seattle Coach Pete Carroll went for it. After quarterback Russell Wilson drew the defense offsides with the hard count, he took advantage of the free play, hitting Jermaine Kearse for a 35-yard touchdown.

Seattle held onto the lead after 49ers' quarterback Collin Kapernick had a fumble and two late-game interceptions.

Seattle will now face Denver in two weeks in New York.
