Craig Grau/The Explorer, Though Shan Pettit estimated his first catch at a slight 1.5 pounds, the junior-sized largemouth bass lit a fire under the sportfishers, who’d caught weeds for two hours previous. Pettit’s a winner of numerous fishing tournaments and is headed to Alaska in July, to hook salmon and halibut.
