WP: Erlin (4-0)
LP: Werner (4-7)

Robbie Erlin struck out 11 batters to help the Tucson Padres to their first shutout of 2013 in a 2-0 win over Sacramento Monday at Kino Stadium. The shutout was the first for the Padres pitching staff since August 21, 2012 in Fresno.
Erlin pitched seven shutout innings and allowed two hits while walking three. The left-hander took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Scott Moore hit a two-out double to right field. Erlin’s 11 strikeouts tied the Padres record for most Ks in a game, set by Sean O’Sullivan earlier this season.
Mike Wilson broke the scoreless tie in the fifth with a solo home run over the left field wall. The final run came across in the seventh when Jesus Merchan hit a two-out single to left allowing Cody Decker to score from second base.
Colt Hynes recorded his second save of the season, closing out the final 1.1 innings of the game. Former Tucson Padre Andrew Werner was charged with the loss for Sacramento after yielding two runs on nine hits.
