Opening day of the 84th annual La Fiesta de los Vaqueros – The Tucson Rodeo – is this Saturday, Feb. 20.

All events are set for the Tucson Rodeo Grounds, 4823 S. 6th Ave., unless otherwise noted.

The schedule is:

 

Saturday, Feb. 20:

11 a.m. – gates open

12:30 p.m. — Dodge Mutton Bustin' and Justin Junior Rodeo

2-4:30 p.m. — ProRodeo competition

Admission: $16-$22

 

Sunday, Feb. 21

Rodeo's second performance, 12:30 p.m.

It's "Tough Enough to Wear Pink Day," with cowboys, cowgirls and fans wearing pink. A portion of admission proceeds is donated to the Southern Arizona Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer programs

12:30 p.m. — Dodge Mutton Bustin' and Justin Junior Rodeo

2 - 4:30 p.m. — ProRodeo competition

Admission: $16-$22

Full rodeo performances resume on Thursday, Feb. 25

 

Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 22 and 23

Timed events competition, slack, 8 a.m.

Barrel racing, steer wrestling, tie-down and team toping only.

Admission: $5 general admission, children under 13 free. Available at the gate only.

Reach program for school children, 9:30 a.m.-noon.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 24

Barrel racing slack, 8 a.m.

Gold card team roping, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Mike Cervi Jr., Memorial Team Roping — Noon to 5 p.m. A non-sanctioned team roping event honors the late PRCA roper from Marana, with proceeds to benefit the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.

Admission: $10 general admission, children under 13 free. Tickets at the gate only.

Reach program for school children, 9:30-11:15 a.m.

 

Thursday, Feb. 25

Tucson Rodeo Parade, 9 a.m.

More than 200 non-motorized floats are on display along the 1-1/2-mile parade route beginning at Park and Ajo Way, proceeding south on Park to Irvington. Grandstand seating at Irvington and South 6th, $6 adults, $4 kids under 13; tickets available by phone at 294-1280.

Tucson Rodeo performances, 12:30 daily through Saturday, Feb. 27

12:30 p.m. — Dodge Mutton Bustin' and Justin Junior Rodeo

Sunday, Feb. 28

Tucson Rodeo Finals, 12:30 p.m.

12:30 p.m. — Dodge Mutton Bustin' and Justin Junior Rodeo

2– 4:30 p.m. — ProRodeo competition

The top 12 competitors in each event return to determine the winners.

Admission: $20-$26
