The Pima Community College women’s tennis team (4-3, 0-1 in conference) dropped its match at Eastern Arizona College 5-4 on Thursday in Thatcher.

The Aztecs took two of the three doubles matches but won two of the six singles matchups. Amy Beeston (Lehi HS, UT) and Torie Wake (Lone Peak HS, UT) won their No. 2 doubles match 8-4 over Kayla White and Loni Karras, Helena Meyer (Nogales HS) and Julienne Cananea (Bradshaw Mountain HS) defeated Ashley Pedro and Sally Stover in the No. 3 spot 8-0.

In singles competition, Beeston beat Karras 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 match while Vivian Pierson (Catalina HS) won her No. 6 singles match over Stover 6-1, 6-1. Wake had a tough match at the No. 3 singles spot and fell 6-3, 6-4.

The Aztecs will play at the West Campus on Tuesday as they host Glendale Community College at 1:30 p.m.
