The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (7-6-1, 6-6-1 in conference) had a dominating performance on Saturday beating South Mountain Community College 10-0 at the Kino North Grandstand.
Five different players scored goals for the Aztecs in the first half. Ashley Cardenas (Tucson Magnet HS) got Pima on the board with her goal in the 7th minute. She finished the game with a hat trick scoring two more goals in the second half (59th and 62nd minutes). Rachel Ridlinghafer (Ironwood Ridge HS) scored two goals for the game. Her first goal came with a shot from 15-yards out in the 35th minute and her second goal was in the 89th.
Elizabeth Valenzuela (Salpointe Catholic HS), Kamree Cady (Sahuaro HS), Larissa Adams (Buena HS), Vanessa Moraida (Tucson Magnet HS) and Sarah Dunbar (Buena HS) each contributed with a goal for Pima. Gisel Duarte (San Luis HS) had three assists.
The Aztecs had 17 shots on goal; eight in the first half. The defense didn’t give up a shot on goal to South Mountain for the game. This is Pima’s sixth shutout of the season.
The Aztecs will play at GateWay Community College in Phoenix on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
