The Pima Community College football team (2-3, 2-3 in conference) kept it close against No. 16 Scottsdale Community College, but in the end fell 35-28.

The Aztecs outscored Scottsdale in the second half 14-7 after trailing 28-14 at halftime and held Scottsdale’s high-powered offense to 14 points. Scottsdale scored 58 points against Mesa the previous week.

He scored on a 1-yard run later in the third quarter. D’Amore scored his first touchdown with a 1-yard run in the second quarter and again on an 8-yard run with 20 seconds left in the third to make it 35-28. D’Amore had 28 yards on seven carries.

The Aztecs had 561 yards of total offense to Scottsdale’s 334. D’Amore threw for 170 yards and Nykaza threw for 165 yards.
