Five of the 10 baseball and softball fields at Arthur Pack Regional Park, 9101 N. Thornydale Road, are closed for improvements from now to Sept. 15.

Fields one through five, near the intersection of Thornydale and Overton roads, are closed while the ball field lighting systems are being updated. Pima County is replacing these outdated lighting systems with Musco’s Light-Structure Green® system, an energy-efficient lighting system that minimizes off-site spill and glare light on adjacent property.  The new lighting system will reduce operating costs and include system monitoring and remote on/off control.

The fields can be seen at www.pima.gov/nrpr/parks/arthur_pack/APPA_facility.pdf.

For more information about Pima County parks, pools, community centers, classes and facilities, visit www.pima.gov/nrpr/ or call 877-6000.
