The Pima Community College men’s golf team completed the two-day tournament at the Toka Sticks Golf Course in Phoenix on Tuesday.
The top six individual golfers for the tournament receive medalist honors; the Aztecs produced three. Joe Courtney improved his score by 6-strokes from the first day, finishing in third place with a score of 140 (73-67). After shooting a 1-under par 69 in the first day, Tyler Cooper (Agave HS) finished the tournament with a two-day score of 143 (69-74) which gave him a fifth place finish. David Chung (Buena HS) took sixth place for the tournament after shooting an overall score of 144 (71-73).
The Aztecs finished in second place in the nine-team field with a score of 571(282-289). Scottsdale Community College took first with a team-score of 567. South Mountain Community College placed third with a team-score of 572.
The Aztecs will host the next tournament at the Silverbell Golf Course on Apr. 14-15. The teams will tee off on Sunday, Apr. 14th at 11 a.m. and Monday, Apr. 15th at 10 a.m.
