The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (2-0, 2-0 in ACCAC conference) took control from the get-go on Thursday in its home opener at the Kino North Grandstand against South Mountain Community College.

The Aztecs shut out South Mountain 1-0. Christian Garcia-Cabello scored the only goal of the game for the Aztecs off a deflection in the 18th minute with an assist from Alejandro Gonzalez (Flowing Wells HS). The Pima defense did the rest by not allowing a single shot on goal. The Aztecs had 10 shots on goal for the game; eight in the first half.

Sam Kavathas (Flowing Wells HS) secured two saves for Pima.

The Aztecs will be back at the Kino North Grandstand tomorrow against Phoenix College. The game will start at 4:30 p.m.

Goals: PCC – Garcia-Cabello (Gonzalez) 18th minute.
