Tucson, AZ – The women’s soccer team took control of the second half in its 6-1 victory over Glendale Community College on Thursday.

Camie Barbera (Ironwood Ridge H.S.) came off the bench and helped the Aztecs score five unanswered goals. Barbera scored three of them. With the game tied at 1, Barbera scored on a shot in the 33rd minute to give Pima the 2-1 lead at halftime. She broke the game open with goals in the 68th and 71st.

Robyn Tolin (Cienega H.S.), Ivonne Herrera (Nogales H.S.) and Kathy Fisher (Sahuaro H.S.) scored the other three goals for Pima. Daisy Gallardo (Cholla H.S.) also contributed with two assists. Erika Heredia (Sabino H.S.) had five saves.

The Aztecs out-shot Glendale 32-6 for the game.

Pima will play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Saturday. The game will start at 7 p.m.
