Quarter horse and thoroughbred horse racing will return to Rillito Park Race Track on weekends from Jan. 28 to March 25.

Rillito Park Race Track is located at 4502 N. First Ave., just south of River Road.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. Post time will be 1 p.m.

Admission will be $8 to the clubhouse and $5 to the grandstand. Free parking will be available, with valet parking offered for $5.

Horse racing will not take place Feb. 4-5, which is Super Bowl weekend. Instead, Rillito Park will host a horse sale sponsored by the American Quarter Horse Association on Feb. 4.

The day will start at 7 a.m. with the horses working out on the track.  The gate will be up.

At 9 a.m., sale horses will join other horses on the track. The sale will begin at 1 p.m.

The PCHA snack bar will open at 8 a.m. and the beverage bar in the lower level grandstand will open at 11 a.m.

The AQRA will hold its annual awards banquet starting at 6 p.m. in the clubhouse.
