You've got one day during the week to go to the World Golf Championships — Accenture Match Play Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain.

What's the one day to be there?

"Wednesday, in my opinion, is one of the most exciting days in all of golf," tournament executive director Wade Dunagan said. "We have 32 matches, 64 players, and in match play, anything can happen. It's like the Sunday of every other event every day, because you determine winners and losers."

Wednesday is "the greatest day in golf," agrees Judy McDermott, executive director of the Tucson Conquistadores.  "You're basically going to have 32 winners on Wednesday, and it doesn't get any better than that in my opinion. It's just so competitive every day at our event. You can watch a round, and see somebody win. It's elimination."

Wednesday's first match tees off just after 7:30 a.m. There are 16 matches Thursday, eight Friday, then the quarterfinals and semifinals Saturday before Sunday's 36-hole duel for the title. Winners, and losers, every day.

"You can't recover from a bad day," Dunagan said. "I've seen matches won when the players shoot 74, and lose when they shoot 66."

Players may have bad days. Fans do not. "They're all great days," Dunagan said.
