For the past few months, the big question for Sun City residents was, “Will it pass or fail?” On Jan. 31, the ballots were counted and the question answered - it passed. The proposed multi-million dollar fitness facility was approved. The new question is, “When will it open?”

Local entrepreneur Gary Durrenberger, owner of Koko FitClub, is offering residents a new short-term, six-month plan, to fill the void during what promises to be a lengthy demolition and construction process. Durrenberger is quick to credit his current members who live in Sun City for recommending the new plan. “I first heard of the fitness center debate and subsequent vote from members who live in Sun City. After visiting about the issue, it became apparent there was a demand for our services, regardless if the gym was approved or not. Obviously, we hope folks will visit Koko and discover for themselves that we’re not a traditional gym – far from it. We’re a sophisticated, clean, first-class facility. Better than all that, we pre-plan each and every workout. There’s absolutely no guess work as to what to do. It’s easy and makes getting fit a lot of fun!”

Durrenberger adds that Koko, located at First and Oracle, is quickly becoming the preferred fitness destination of men and women of all ages and fitness backgrounds. “We’ve added over 110 new Members in the past 100 days! The great people of Oro Valley are discovering that Koko is different, effective and efficient. And, at just $79 per month for unlimited, customized strength and cardio training, as well as online meal plans and nutritional guidance, Koko is a great value!

We’re very excited we picked Oro Valley to launch Koko in the Tucson market and can’t wait to meet more Sun City residents who hopefully will take us up on our new six month plan!”
